Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis to access your subconscious mind and find the real cause inhibiting your fulfillment and make the necessary changes.

Our subconscious mind has many roles, it holds our *memory, *emotions, beliefs, decisions about what we can and can’t do as well as managing our body.  It stores our learnt behaviour, i.e. when we were very young we had to learn how to walk but now, we don’t have to think about how to walk, we just decide we want to walk and do it.   Automatic responses come from our subconscious mind.  It’s our sub-conscious mind that dreams.  It works through making connections, e.g. a song can remind you of a specific memory or a smell can trigger memory.  The sub-conscious mind absorbs our experience through our senses, sight, sound, touch, smell, taste and our sense of knowing or intuition.  The sub-conscious has a blueprint of perfect health so using hypnosis we can heal our bodies.  The ability of the sub-conscious mind is immense and incredibly powerful.  Change made at the sub-conscious level is very powerful and immediate.

However, the sub-conscious mind doesn’t know right from wrong – it responds to our programming of it.  “Don’t think of a pink elephant” – what are you now thinking about? – a pink elephant.  It responds to direct commands, e.g. I want to think about ………. Or I can visualize perfect health, or I am happy etc.  Of course identifying a goal often starts out by identifying what we don’t want but to make a goal happen, we must focus on the positive aspects of achieving the goal – then our sub-conscious mind can really assist that manifestation.

When you access your subconscious through hypnosis you treat the cause not the symptom.  You identify “why” you feel/respond/think/act like you do.  The wonderful thing about your mind is that the solution is there, hypnosis empowers you to find it.

What hypnosis feels like?

Hypnosis creates a relaxed body and an alert mind, similar to how you feel when waking up in the morning, your body is still asleep but your mind is very active. In this state you can find answers to questions that previously you didn’t know the answer.  You can install suggestions of what you desire.  During hypnosis, you are fully aware of what is happening and you only accept suggestions that are right for you.

Can anyone be hypnotized?

Yes if they want to be hypnotized.   To be hypnotized all you have to do is follow the instructions of the therapist who is guiding you into a state of deep relaxation.  So you’re always in control – you can follow the guidance or not, it’s up to you. The therapist can’t make you do anything that you don’t want to do.  When you are in that deep state of relaxation, the therapist asks you questions which you can answer at a very deep level of awareness and thereby find your solution.

Can you move when hypnotized?

Yes.

If someone called your name as you were waking up in the morning, you could respond and move if you wanted to, hypnosis is the same.
